The great Eugenio Bennato will perform in a great concert at the Ex OPG!
Saturday July 25 2015, Eugenio Bennato will be in concert at "Je so 'crazy' the Ex-OPG (judicial psychiatric hospital) of Materdei.
The highly anticipated live will be preceded by the video projection "Mon père et ma mère", curated by Taranta Power and directed by Loredana Antonelli.
The famous Neapolitan artist has behind a rich career started in the years' 70 with the New Society of Popular Singing. Over time Bennato has distinguished himself in the Neapolitan music scene giving his music a decidedly ethnic and popular, typical of southern Italy.
Famous in Italy and abroad, the singer boasts numerous successes, extraordinary tours, LP, famous collaborations, scores for cinema, theater and classical ballet and the foundation of important social and cultural movements such as "Taranta Power", an initiative based on a youthful approach to popular music and on the promotion of new creative paths.
The location for the concert, then, will be the Ex-OPG "Je so crazy", for years remained in the abandonment and only a few months busy by and students, workers e unemployed with the intention of bringing it back to light, enhancing it and keeping alive the memory of the terrible episodes of torture and violence that occurred in the past. A place to return to Naples, and above all a symbol of rebirth and desire to do from a social, cultural and artistic point of view.
