The Feast of Torrone and Croccantino 2016 know how to play in the magical Christmas atmosphere of San Marco dei Cavoti!
La Festa del Torrone and Croccantino back to the intoxication of sweet smells the streets of San Marco dei Cavoti, an enchanting country of the Campania Apennines, in the province of Benevento.
The typical dessert of the Christmas tradition could not miss in this magical atmosphere and will certainly attract a large number of visitors. There 16th edition will take place every day from 7 to 11 December 2016, then it will resume for another two days, the 17 and the 18 December, and will offer a enogastronomic and cultural itinerary.
Visitors will be able to taste traditional local desserts prepared in various ways, such as i lemon crunchy, orange with coconut, mint, coffee, gianduia and al pistachio, and the genuine products of the area from cheeses to the winner, from oil to cured meats, without neglecting the excellent wines of our land. The stands, scattered through the streets of the village, will be heated to allow you to appreciate everything in detail: the nougat, the crunchy, the products of the rural area of Sannio and Alto Tammaro.
Sunday 11 December at 15: 00 the artisans will realize the Megacroccantino hoping to break the record of the longest crunchy ever made. At the end of the event the crisp will be broken and offered to visitors. The rest of the program includes folk shows, Christmas concerts, bagpipers, corner of roasted chestnuts, show cooking, culinary itineraries at "km 0", street artists, the nativity scene contest, guided tours of historical and artistic beauties including the one at the Torre Clock Museum and the exhibition of objects from crafts linked to tradition.
This year a greater turnout is expected because the event, compared to previous editions, has made giant steps, in fact, visitors will find info points in Piazza Risorgimento by the ProLoco di San Marco dei Cavoti that will provide information on programs and services .
