Festival of the Tree at the Botanical Garden, an event dedicated to environmental protection including shows, guided tours and gardening workshops
Back in the wonderful Botanical Garden of Naples, Festival of the Tree, a manifestation which has reached its third edition with the aim of the awareness of culture and environmental protection through an event that includes educational activities, guided tours, shows, conferences and gardening workshops.
This year the protagonists of the event linked to nature will be the hamadryads, the "nymphs" of the trees who, according to mythology, were trapped in the trunk of the plants, linked to them by an inseparable destiny, until death.
La Festival of the Tree it is above all an opportunity to open a public debate on planting of trees in city spaces in accordance with the objectives established by the "National Tree Day" established by the Ministry of the Environment and the Protection of the Territory and the Sea (as established by the AC 4290 bill).

Thursday 21th of November
9:30 - 17:30
The Italian Association of Public Garden Directors and Technicians (Section Campania), in collaboration with the Botanical Garden of Naples, the Order of Agronomists and Forestry Doctors of the Province of Naples, R3 GIS and Studio Verde, organizes a study day dedicated to good practices for safe green management: “Safe green? A question of method ”The Training Conference is sponsored by the Municipality of Naples and will take place in the Aula Magna of the Biology Department building located at the entrance to the Garden.
Thursday 21 and Friday 22 November
Hours 10.00 - 12.00
School students will have to identify the "Trees of the Hamadriads" present in the arboretum of the Garden and draw the appearance of the nymphs that live in them, giving space to personal imagination. The activity will be conducted by specialized guides who will accompany the groups along the "Path of the Amadriadi". The most significant drawing will be awarded; the plant corresponding to the nymph depicted will be planted in homage to the "National Tree Day". Reservations are required. It is recommended to bring sketchbooks and colors of your choice.
Friday November 22
The Naturalistic drawing course "Architecture of trees and landscape design" is launched. Lecturer Lorenzo Dotti. The course will take place from 22 to 24 November 2013. For info: www.ortobotanico.unina.it
Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 November
Hours 9.30 - 13.00
Free public access. "The colors of Autumn", market of fruits and natural products. Exhibition of naturalistic drawing by Dr. Nilde Di Stasi and Rosaria Manco. Exhibition of artistic collage created by the children of the elementary schools of Capri. The exhibitions will be articulated along the main avenues.

Gardening workshop for adults and children: sowing, cultivating and reproducing your trees. Info at the reception point. In these two days diversified events are planned.
Saturday November 23
9 hours: 30 and 10: 30
Guided tours. In the traditional itinerary, a walk along the "Il Sentiero delle Amadriadi" will be included. Meeting at the reception point. No reservations are made. 11 Hours: 00 Show: The People of the Wood. Text and direction by Giovanna Facciolo. The show will tend to actively involve children who will be able to interact with the various characters inspired by fairy tales, myths and popular legends related to the forest.

Guided tours. "Il Sentiero delle Amadriadi": fantastic appearances from the world of the woods. Meeting at the reception point. No reservations are made. 10 Hours: 00 Demonstration and preparation of Christmas decorations by the teacher of Ikebana M. Domenica Castrì. 12 Hours: 00 Dance show "Africa: The Black Continent", organized by ASD Kodokan Sport Napoli. Choreography by: Giusi, Alessia and Emanuela Adamo and Enzo Padulano.
