Doc wines, allegorical floats and shows at the 2016 Grape Festival in Solopaca!
From 8 to 15 September 2016 the Beneventan city of Solopaca will host the Grape Festival.
The country is in fact known for the production of doc wines, produced with local grapes, characterized by an intense aroma and a velvety flavor more evident when tasting with aging.
The origin of the event dates back to the 700th century, when the local Confraternity celebrated the Feast of the Addolorata to collect gifts, especially grapes, transported on decorated wagons, which were sold in a public auction.
Currently the event has a historical value, but also an economic one since the prized wine of the Cantina di Solopaca is advertised with the traditional parade of handcrafted allegorical floats, With grains glued one to a according to their size and shade of color to create the polychrome effect.
The party will be dedicated to peasant cults and entertainment with the final award ceremony of the most representative float.
