Back in 1998, for the first time, the routes of Salerno they were filled with the delicious aroma of freshly baked pizza. Since that time, the Mother's Pizza has become a fixture for lovers of Italian taste and culture, attracting dozens of thousands of visitors every year. Now, in 2023, the organization is pleased to announce ithe twenty-fifth anniversary of this culinary feast.
When will the pizza festival be held in Salerno?
This celebration of food and culture will be held from 12 to 16 July 2023 in Salerno, in Piazza Salerno Capitale (Grand Hotel Salerno). The event was conceived by Maurice Falcone, founder of the Alimenta Association, in collaboration with Effe Emme Eventi, and sponsored by numerous entities, including the Campania Region, the Province of Salerno, the Municipality of Salerno, the Chamber of Commerce of Salerno, CNA Salerno, ONMIC, HUMANITAS and AIC Campania.
Between food and activity
In the course of five days of celebration, visitors will have the opportunity to taste the tastiest pizzas in Campania, enriched by traditional cooking in a wood oven. But the experience is not limited to the palate: participants will be able to immerse themselves in a whirlwind of colors, sounds and unique atmospheres, with musical, cultural performances and entertainment.
Over the years, the Mother's Pizza he extended his presence well beyond the borders of Salerno, arriving in Pontecagnano and Giffoni Valle Piana and, on one occasion, also in the Parliament of Strasbourg. She has won the hearts of the general public by participating in high-profile events such as the Sanremo Italian Song Festival and Rimini Fitness Festival. In 2005, a delegation from the festival was even received by Pope Benedict XVI, to which it was Donato a wood oven.
