A magnificent European Music Festival to be held at the Teatro di San Carlo and at the Palazzo Reale in Naples

Il 21 June 2015, summer solstice, there will be a big one European Music Festival staged at Teatro di San Carlo and Royal Palace sites near Piazza Plebiscito.

The Teatro San Carlo, built during the Bourbon regency, is one of the the oldest and most prestigious opera houses in Europe, famous for its elegant architecture and its perfect acoustics. He hosted the symphonic performances of Mozart, Rossini, Donizzetti and Verdi, whose works will be re-proposed during the Music Festival, performed by the inimitable Orchestra sancarliana. A gospel choir instead he will try his hand in a more modern musical repertoire, with songs by Queen, Abba and the classic Neapolitan song.

It will also go on stage La Cenerentola, a playful melodrama in two acts inspired by the famous fairy tale by Perrault. The libretto was written by Jacopo Ferretti and music by Gioachino Rossini, who used the self-loan technique, that is, he took the music for some pieces from successful works previously composed.

An entire day of great events dedicated to music and to all of us who love her.
