For the first time in Naples the festival dedicated to the cultures of the South and the Lower Mediterranean. Here is the program!
THEformer Filangieri nursery school in Naples from 9 January 2015, for about a year, becomes the theater of the first initiative dedicated to music and dances of the cultures of Southern Italy and the Lower Mediterranean.
The review entitled "Festibàl" presents a program full of monthly events, each dedicated to a southern community.
Irpinia, Andalusia, Persia, Greece, Barbagia, Aspromonte and many other companies will be the protagonists of each day that will host in the morning corsi dance, instruments and music.
In the evening, instead, it will be on stage "Dance party" with entertainment and concerts. Everything will be done by professional choreographers and musicians who will come to Naples specifically for the festival.
The initiative, started with the evening "La Mescla" with live music and Mediterranean dances, it is curated by prof. Luca Sessa, creator of the Association for the culture of the Lower Mediterranean Three Sicilies, born in 2008.
The purpose of the colorful review is to relocate Naples to center of Mediterranean cultures, a "center of the relational world from which it comes and still belongs"As explained by the organizers.
The different cultural influences in question represent a precious one lifeblood for the city that, with the passage of time, risks losing unity as the "events of the last century and a half have gradually made it the center almost exclusively of itself".
Drowning in full of culture which have always influenced Naples, it will therefore be easier to rediscover one's roots and look to the future.
