At the Mostra d'Oltremare the Naples Festival will take place to enhance the excellence of our land!
At the Mostra d'Oltremare from 30 June to 2 July and from 7 to 9 July 2017 will be held on Naples Festival, in the context of Naples meets the world. It will be an event that wants to be a tribute to food and wine, to artistic beauties, music, traditions, folklore and craftsmanship that have made our city a world-class excellence.
Anyone who comes to Naples falls in love with this land considered by many to be the most beautiful city in the world not only for its monuments, for its history or for its alleys, but above all because it is symbol of joy, love, passion, tears and heart. And it is precisely to pay homage that this great party was made.
The aim is also to help to erase the negative stereotypes and the false myths that still spread, replacing them with all the excellences have made Naples one of the pearls of the Mediterranean, rich history and culture. It will also give great importance to its symbols, especially the artistic ones, from Totò to Pino Daniele.

Events of the Naples Festival
Shows
Naples is the land of international artists and histrionic characters, so a rich program could not be missing concerts, comedy shows, theatrical performances, ballets and other artistic activities. For the Festival they were organized six stages thematic, one for each genre, where the shows will alternate uninterruptedly.
The Theater Stage
At the Naples Festival will be staged classic and modern works of the Neapolitan tradition and national shows.
Il Palco Danze
International choreographers will stage performances of traditional dances, including tarantellas and group dances.
Palco delle Fontane
In the area of the fountains will be set up the shows of games of water and colors.
The Palco Festival of Naples
In this space, dedicated to the Nations present at the Festival, everyone will bring a piece of their culture. The international stages will be 5:
- The Irish Stage
On the stage will come some international bands that will perform with the irrepressible rhythms of Irish and Scottish music. - The Latin American Palco
The bands will transmit the joy of living and the passion through the Argentine tango and the Brazilian samba. - The Country Stage
The stage will host bands and international bands that will play country music, and dance lessons will be given. - The Spanish Palco
Spanish voice and guitar will be at the base of Flamenco performances. - The October festival stage
On the stage there will be rhythms and traditional Bavarian dances that will involve all those present.
The Concert Stage at the Flegrea Arena
A stage dedicated to the concerts of the bands with different musical styles, for example:
- The Mythical America Stage
On stage the American music of the years' 50 and'60, from the successes of Elvis to those of Jerry Lee Lewis. - The Celtic Stage
A stage dedicated to bands that perform Celtic music. - The African Stage
The wild atmospheres reproposed with percussions and tribal dances. - The Thousand and One Night Stage
The melodies of the Middle East will accompany the dancers with veils. - The Argentino Stage
From South America will be proposed the music of the Argentine tradition that will accompany the tango dancers.
Dancing fountains
Every evening the show will take place Dancing Fountains at the beautiful Fontana dell'Esedra. Following the rhythm of the music, the water will dance, changing color and leaving all spectators speechless.

Tradition and Folklore
Naples is a magical city, the cradle of ancient myths and legends, a land of superstitious people and people who respect religious and secular traditions and rites. Our land is also rich in folklore and characters that have been handed down from generation to generation. Eg in honor of San Gennaro, exhibition spaces will be set up which will retrace the most important moments of the traditional festival, but the Festival will also be an opportunity to propose plays of light and one fireworks competition in honor of the Virgin Mary, there will also be present the Madonnari of the Neapolitan School who with their chalks will create masterpieces on the asphalt of the Neapolitan streets.
Equestrian art
A space will be dedicated to the magnificent bell equestrian art, with shows and surprising performances of Neapolitan horses more elegant, naturally respecting them totally.
Excellence in the world
Campania is known all over the world for its excellence in the fields of gastronomy, wines, culture, sport, crafts, tourism and industry. There will be at the Festival show of acrobatic pizzaioli, demonstrations of the process of processing buffalo mozzarella from Campania, wine tastings, 0 Km markets.
As far as craftsmanship is concerned, the Festival will perform workshops and demonstrations concerning the creation of handicraft works such as Capodimonte ceramics, the Cribs of San Gregorio Armeno, the ceramics of Vietri and the corals of Torre del Greco.
Naples is a tourist destination for Italians and foreigners. The tourist offer is vast, from islands to the coast, from spas to archaeological sites. At the Festival visitors can immerse themselves in the reproduction of the historical center, admiring the alleys and monuments located in the heart of the city.
The gastronomy
Neapolitan cuisine is based on simple ingredients of both the land and the sea and will be dedicated a wide space to the Neapolitan gastronomy. There will also be some specific festivals that we list below.
Buffalo mozzarella festival
Buffalo mozzarella is considered the white gold of Naples and, in the Viale delle Palme area, there will be a space entirely dedicated to this unique goodness. You can have excellent tastings thanks to the stands of best dairies in the Campania region.
Pizza Festival
The best Neapolitan pizza makers will try their hand at preparing exquisite pizzas, preparing both the traditional ones and the most innovative and original ones. Furthermore, there will be acrobatic pizzaioli for they will perform in nice shows and will be organized courses and workshops to learn the secrets of pizza, from choosing the best flour to cooking the ingredients. The Festival is located on Viale delle Palme.
Fried Festival
There will also be the festival dedicated to fries, especially to fried pizza, macaroni omelette, panzarotti, zeppoline of seaweed, fried cod. Among the protagonists it is inevitable that there will be i cuoppi of sea and land and will not miss the most modern revisitations, such as vegetable tempura (courgettes, aubergines and carrots). Also this festival is located on Viale delle Palme.
Street food and craft beers
Street food with the famous will be proposed wallet pizza, ciccinielli, the Casatiello, tripe salad, the sciurilli, octopus broth, pasta grown, crocchè and so on and so forth. The will also be proposed homemade beers of the local breweries. This area will be located in the Laghetto Rosso area.
Neapolitan sweets
How could the exquisite sweets of Naples not be there? You can dive into their goodness among Baba, sfogliatella, pastiera and much more.
Wines and spirits
Naturally, there will also be a space dedicated to drinks with wine tastings such as Greco di Tufo, Fiano di Avellino, Falanghina, Aglianico, Taurasi or the famous lemon liqueur, Limoncello.
Restaurant of the Fountains
The restaurant where you can taste will be open near the Fontana dell'Esedra Neapolitan specialties and other international cuisines, all accompanied by the show of games, colors and music of the fountain.
Restaurant opening: from 20: 00 to 24: 00 with two two-hour shifts.
Fountain shows time: first show hours 21: 30, second show hours 23: 30.

There will be a showcooking area in which some chefs from the Neapolitan schools will propose the preparation, with one spectacular show, of the best dishes of the Neapolitan cuisine.
Tribute to the myths
Naples, like many important cities, has its famous people, men and women who have helped make the city famous in the world. At the Festival there will be a rich calendar of exhibitions, theatrical performances, film forums, debates, book presentations, conferenze dedicate a queste grandi personalità. Si omaggeranno Totò, Pino Daniele, Maradona, Eduardo e Peppino de Filippo, Massimo Troisi, Enrico Caruso, Mario Merola.
Toto
The Prince of Laughter Antonio De Curtis will be dedicated one shows with his sketches most famous and its most amusing sceneries.
Pino Daniele
There will be a tribute to Pino Daniele thanks to the musical performance of one tribute and revival band who will perform on the inaugural evening, during which hundreds of will be released in the air bright balloons.
San Gennaro
In the museum and cultural area of the Festival, aexhibition area dedicated to the patron saint of the city.
Maradona
There could not be a tribute to the Pibe De Oro, one of the heroes of the Neapolitans, to whom one will be dedicated Itinerant museum, also in honor of the love that Diego himself feels for our city.
Sport
The Festival could not miss an area dedicated to sport and sports personalities who have given prestige to the entire nation. We remember the swimming champion Massimiliano Rosilino, Piero Maddaloni in Judo, Patrizio Oliva in boxing, i Abbagnale brothers in the rowing, Diego Armando Maradona in football.
