Day of Remembrance in Naples, concert at the Royal Palace with the children's voices of San Carlo
On the occasion of Holocaust Memorial Day, January 27 2023, the day in which all the innocent victims of the Shoah, at Royal Palace of Naples an appointment not to be missed, namely the concert with the Children's Choir of the Teatro San Carlo.
This is just one of the many events that have been organized for the occasion, a free concert entitled The history of Brundibar, with the touching story of thesole survivor, who was only 13 at the time and of the senator Liliana Segre.
The history of Brundibar at the Royal Palace
Friday 27 January 2023 at 18:00 at the Court Theater of the Royal Palace of Naples this unmissable concert will take place, which will be performed by the San Carlo Children's Choir, directed by Stephanie Rinaldi. The show is dedicated to the memory of the Jewish children deported to the Terezin ghetto and protagonists in 1944 of Brundibar by Hans Krasa.
It will be a truly touching moment, in fact, through the story of Paul Aaron Sandfort, sole survivor and a memento of the senator Liliana Segre, you will understand how the Nazis wanted to make the world believe that in the sorting camp children were brought to be educated.
At the heart of the history of Brundibàr are Pepicek and Anika, two boys left without a father who, to raise some money for their sick mother, perform dances and songs, imitating Brundibàr.
For well 55 times higher the show was performed in the concentration camp 80 km from Prague. At each performance, however, the performers changed. In fact, as soon as new children arrived, the old ones left for Auschwitz.
