One night at the Museum of Capodimonte for the Giovani Ciceroni event in Capodimonte

A Saturday night dedicated to art and culture at the Capodimonte Museum led by the young Ciceroni!

Saturday November 30 the initiative will be held again Night at the Museum, an event that takes place every Saturday of the month until December 2013 and which includes the night opening of some museums and archaeological areas throughout Italy. In Naples, on the occasion of this event, al Museum of Capodimonte the possibility will be offered to visitors to make a fascinating night trip inside the Palace, in an event entitled Young ciceroni at Capodimontis. The and students of Museology of the Department of Humanities of the University of Naples Federico II, in addition to organizing the interesting night tour, will accompany the participants, as perfect "Ciceroni", to discover the Palace, giving information on its history and illustrating the various collections and the individual works exhibited. Visitors will be greeted by students at the entrance of four main "stations"ie along the environments that make up the various stages. Visitors can choose to follow them all in a modular way or to focus on just a few sections:

  • Capodimonte da Reggia at the Museum: First stage of the journey, aimed at illustrating the history of the building and its splendid park, but also its precocious museum vocation, with the various installations that have followed one another over time
  • Masterpieces of the very famous Farnese Collection: linked to the political action and cultural choices of the family, whose collections reached Naples thanks to Charles of Bourbon
  • Royal Apartment: where the rooms and furnishings still suggest the atmosphere of past centuries, although the palace is no longer recognizable in its housing
  • Neapolitan Gallery: which in itself constitutes an extraordinary, surprising itinerary along six centuries of Neapolitan art, further enriched by the exhibition of the Avalos collection.

The project Young Ciceroni in Capodimonte aims to involve young people above all, to offer a proposal for a different Saturday evening, to discover their cultural heritage in a magical evening in contact with art.
