The eagerly awaited appointment with the Carnival in Palma Campania, in the province of Naples. An event that the citizens of Palme and neighboring cities always await with anxiety and trepidation. Also for this year, as per tradition, the program is really full of appointments, some of which already started in January and which will end on 21 February 2023.
They will be special masked days, in which Quadrilles will take place, i.e. groups of musicians who spectacularly disguised will perform along the streets of the center, with the hope of receiving the prize of Quadrille of the year.
The masked parades and the Quadrilles
In particular, the Sunday before Shrove Tuesday, or the February 19, will be the day of the staging of quadrille, the masks with the wonderful hand sewn costumes and the important choreographies will perform for the audience. At the end of the exhibition there will be a fireworks display.
Monday February 20, will be the day of Passo, or the day in which the Quadrille, no longer wearing their Sunday clothes, rehearse the Canzonieri for the following day.
Il February 21, will be the decisive day, each group accompanied by brass and percussion music, will perform and will then be judged. Finally, the winning group will be discovered thanks to an installation of a steel star with its long name Martin Square.
