The English Garden of the Royal Palace of Caserta will host The Merchant of Venice: Shakespeare's masterpiece will be staged in the Aperia.

Il 2 and 3 September 2017 la Palace of Caserta welcomes an unmissable appointment, The merchant of Venice staged in the Aperia of the Royal Gardens. Thus the Demiurge Shakespeare Company, specialized in the representation of the classics, made its debut by William Shakespeare.

The project of the company, all Italian, is to stage the works of the great author in non-theatrical places: gardens, castles, villages and parks then become the ideal stage in which to involve the public as well. The Merchant of Venice is set in the Serenissima at the end of the 500th century, affair of love and greed that intertwine with history.

The show will go on stage in the evocative Aperia, with a hemicycle plan, one of the ancient factories of the English Garden. Originally used as a water reservoir, the structure was later used for the breeding of bees and a greenhouse: today it houses the open air theater.

It is strongly recommended booking, since the places are limited.
