The executive project called "Pedestrian and cycle redevelopment of the Lungomare di Napoli, stretch between Piazza Vittoria and Molosiglio”Was completed and delivered to the Municipal Administration and is the result of an international tender.

Our waterfront is one of the most beautiful in the world and the redevelopment includes the wonderful stretch that goes from Piazza Vittoria to the Molosiglio Gardens passing through Via Partenope with the luxurious hotels, the Castel dell'Ovo behind which there is the Borgo Marinari and also the Fontana del Gigante.

It will also be confirmed and improved the cycle path.

The works on the Naples waterfront

The project includes the following improvements:

  • the asphalt pavement will be replaced by one lava stone flooring Etna with trani stone inserts
  • la roadway will be redefined
  • la bicycle path will be confirmed
  • are provided two vehicular lanes for authorized vehicles, residents, vehicles directed to hotels and garages, for authorized vehicles for loading and unloading goods
  • will widened the sidewalks buildings side

A more beautiful and comfortable street furniture

The project also provides for a greater enhancement of the public space also towards pedestrians because they will be added benches, green spaces and other types of sessions.

In addition, the adjustment of thepublic lighting system with sustainable systems and energy saving. The Municipality is making a lot of efforts in terms of eco-sustainability also with the placing in service of low consumption bus and with the installation of electric car charging hub.

The project, the result of important collaborations

This important project was approved thanks to the comparison and collaboration both between institutions and citizens and with theUniversity of Naples Federico II, Regional Directorate for the cultural and landscape heritage of Campania and with Supervision Archeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for the Municipality of Naples.
