The Google Pizza doodle: because it makes you turn up your nose, but it's actually perfect

doogle_google-pizza-meaning

Yes Google, a famous American company, dedicates the doodle today to pizza. Recall the doodles are those changes, special and momentary, of the logo on the home page of the Google search engine and these actions are aimed at commemorating holidays, events, important births and much more.

Today, 6th December 2021, falls on the anniversary of the day on which the pizza was officially included among the recognized assets of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Precisely, it was the year 2007 when Unesco took this historic step.

The search engine company decides, therefore, to pay homage to the famous Neapolitan dish with a doodle, but it does so so that it might sound strange, but it isn't. We are certainly not here to criticize the Google style, but to emphasize how much the pizza has become international and how much it has undergone major changes based on the culture of that particular country where it was established.

Why Google's Doodle makes you turn up your nose

This time, the Google doodle does not refer to the official page of the origin of the pizza but by clicking on the logo you can start a play very funny: the goal is cut the slices of pizza according to tastes of the people involved. The tastes, however, are very far from the historical ones. It starts from the traditional margherita up to pizzas that are absolutely not typical of our territory, such as the much discussed pizza with pineapple (Hawaiian Pizza) and the Hungarian (typical of Hungary).

Because Google's Doodle is perfect

But why is Google's doodle right in the end? Because it is inclusive. La pizza it has a history, it has an origin, but it no longer belongs to us effectively. Pizza has become international and everyone, with everyone's hands ethnicity possible (if there is still a need to underline it). And so yes, it starts from Margherita but reaches those of the whole world. By playing we learn to be inclusive: we respect the tastes of each person (everyone has their own tastes by need or by choice) and above all everyone has their own culture that is reflected in their pizza.

Yes, but Neapolitan pizza can't be touched!

We admit it, we thought so too at first, but then we decided to go to the official source (the Google site) and read more. Although not explicitly explained, the previous concepts seemed more than clear to us. In fact, at the end of the company's official article about doodle, we find a paragraph "Which pizza makes your world go round?”And among the tastes we have the Margherita in first position, but then it is the turn of really strange pizzas as even the“ Dessert Pizza ”which as ingredients simply has“ Infinite possibilities ”. And here is the keystone. Everyone now has their own pizza. Whether it is a person, understood as a single individual, country or culture.

Pizza has become a symbol of inclusion.
