A large fire hit the industrial area of Arzano today November 15, 2021 causing flames and smoke that you noticed many kilometers away unfortunately.

The stake concerns one kitchen factory located in via Torricelli and it flared up around 7 in the morning, spreading quickly and causing an intense black cloud that also involved Casoria, Afragola and even Naples.

The smoke has reached Naples

As has unfortunately happened on other occasions, the smoke from this toxic fire has also reached some areas of Naples, like the Aminei Hills. It was also perceived in the city center.

At the moment, no particular measures and precautions have been indicated to follow in relation to closing windows or food not to be purchased, but it is too early to give any such indications.

In any case, the regional councilor of Europa Verde Francesco Emilio Borrelli asked theArpac to monitor air conditions to understand if there may be any health hazards. The analyzes have begun and will last a few days, although for the moment there are no anomalous variations in the concentration of pollutants in the air.

The arrival of the Fire Brigade

The Fire Brigade immediately rushed to the scene and they have been there for over a couple of hours working continuously to put out the fire.

Fortunately, there were no injuries because all the employees were immediately removed from the company structure.

The words of the mayor

The mayor of Arzano, Cinzia Aruta, as a precaution asks its citizens to keep windows closed and to avoid unnecessary travel. Furthermore, it is requested not to obstruct emergency vehicles in the streets.

The causes of the fire

The causes are not yet known of the fire which unfortunately is not the first in the area, in fact other fires have also been detected in the Arzano area in recent weeks.

In any case, the carabinieri will investigate what happened, but one of the hypotheses concerns a failure of the machinery that would have affected many flammable materials. We remain, however, in the field of hypotheses.
