Inti Illimani Historico at the Maschio Angioino

The historic group of Inti Illimani will perform at the Maschio Angioino for an evening in homage to Salvador Allende and Pablo Neruda

The famous Chilean group of the Inti Illimani Historico will stop in Naples for a memorable concert in the splendid setting of the Maschio Angioino as part of the town's program of events September More (continuous of "Summer is now“, Full program of events that accompanied us during the summer months).

The historic South American group, in exile from their country from 1973 to 1988, and which was granted political asylum precisely in Italy, will perform in Naples, for the only stage in the south, of his tour. The date to be marked on the calendar is 10 September and the location will be Maschio Angioino.

The Inti Illimani will play in our city on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Pinochet coup in Chile and to remember Salvador Allende, the exiles, the disappeared and all the victims who fought for freedom and democracy. Theirs will also be a tribute to the poet Pablo Neruda, considered one of the greatest artists in the country, to Violeta Parra and Victor Jara.

The event is sponsored by the Department of Culture and Tourism of the City of Naples and will also take place near the upcoming celebrations of the 4 days of Naples, this year on their 70th anniversary.
Symbolically, the name of the tour is precisely “Canto para no olvidar”, that is “I sing not to forget”: the long-lived Chilean group will thus honor the memory of President Allende and his deep desire for freedom and democracy.
