Cuban architecture on display at the Palazzo delle Arti in Naples

Photo exhibition by Ana Gloria Salvia on XNUMXth century Cuban architecture at the Pan museum in Naples

From March 6 to April 8, 2014 , an original photographic exhibition on Cuban architecture , entitled Archi_Cuba, Modern Havana. Architecture in Images , will be held at the Pan Museum, Palazzo delle Arti in Naples . This is a solo exhibition by Ana Gloria Salvia , curated by Maria Savarese, promoted by the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Municipality of Naples and sponsored by the Universal Forum of Cultures and the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Naples Federico II.

Ana Gloria Salvia is a Franco-Cuban photographer currently living in Paris. She began photographing Cuban architecture after being struck by the beauty of a well-known reinforced concrete building, the Focsa (Havana), one of the tallest in the world at the time. Her artistic imagination was captivated, and in 2011 she decided to explore lesser-known aspects of Cuban architecture and to pursue a photographic investigation of the pure geometries of the colonial architectural forms of this fascinating island.

The exhibition at the Pan does not aim to be a cataloguing of modern Cuban architectural styles, but rather aims to instill in the observer the poetry and charm of the forms of some 20th-century Cuban buildings, captured by the gaze of the artist Ana Gloria Salvia.

The opening of the exhibition will be held on Thursday 6 March at 18:00 pm at the Pan in Naples.
