The Cantata dei Pastori by Peppe Barra at the Teatro Politeama in Naples for 2018 Christmas
There is no Christmas in Naples without La Cantata dei Pastori which for over forty years has come to life thanks to Peppe Barra at the Teatro Politeama also at Christmas 2018.
If you want to live a Christmas in the name of the true Christmas spirit, then you cannot miss The Cantata dei Pastori which will be staged at Politeama of Naples, in Via Monte di Dio 80, from Thursday 20 December 2018 to Sunday January 6 2019.
Result of the commitment of Peppe Barra e Paolo Memoli, The Cantata dei Pastori is inspired by the sacred play of Andrea Perrucci. It is a text of Jesuit theater that between Catholic sentiment and pagan rite tells the story troubles of Giuseppe and Maria in order to take the census of Bethlehem and the obstacles they had to overcome before finding refuge in the cave of the Nativity. During the trip they are accompanied by two Neapolitan popular figures, that is Razzullo, a scribe hired for the census, e sarchiapone, crazy barber fleeing for murder.
Peppe Barra, who plays Razzullo, is the protagonist and director of the show. Together with him, to give life to this beautiful play, there are: Rosalia Porcaro in the role of Sarchiapone, Maria Letizia Gorga as a Zingara / Gabriello, Francesco Iaia plays the Demon, Franco Castiglia instead it is Cidonio, Enrico Vicinanza like Ruscellio, Francesco Viglietti he plays Armenzio, Biagio Musella is the Devil Oste, Andrea Carotenuto take on the role of Giuseppe, Chiara Di Girolamo interprets the Virgin Mary, while the child Giuseppe De Rosa it is Benino.
