The Nutcracker: The Plot of Classical Ballet
The Nutcracker is a classical ballet, which takes place on the music of Pëtr Il'ič Čajkovskij, composed between 1891 and 1892 on indications from the libretto by Marius Petipa. The story is inspired by Ernst Theodor's story The Nutcracker and the Mouse King Amadeus Hoffmann of 1816.
It is one of the most beautiful and most represented theatrical works during the Christmas period, in fact, the fairy tale takes place during the most magical night of the whole year: Christmas Eve.
The protagonist of the story is Clara, a little girl who receives a gift as a gift nutcracker in the shape of a toy soldier. A special gift that comes alive during the night, dragging little Clara into a fantastic dream, amidst wonderful dances and sweet melodies.
