Bad news for the citizens of Naples, in particular those who use the bike to move, in fact the Municipality of the City, through a special management order announces the closure of the cycle path on the Lungomare Caracciolo in Naples.
The closure will be until 2 December 2022, period in which a construction site of the Terna Company who will carry out repaving works on the sidewalk on the sea side for the arrangement of the ATP Tennis.
In particular, the Municipality has ordered the closure of the cycle path in the section between Via Galiani and Piazza Sannazaro.
The reaction of the citizens
The news obviously was not welcomed with pleasure by the citizens, as stated by theCleanap Association, which deals with sustainability and social innovation, in a post on the faceboook page, an alternative route could have been created for Neapolitan cyclists, but this did not happen.
Using the bike to get around is a green choice, in favor of the environment, yet in Naples there are a few km of cycle paths, and unfortunately with the temporary closure of the path on the Lungomare, this number decreases further.
