The village of Montecorvino Rovella, located in the province of Salerno, prepares to welcome, from 21 to 24 July 2023, the long-awaited "Feast of Local Tastes: Barks, Chickpeas and Porcini“. This renowned festival is a tribute to traditional flavors and marks an exciting return to public celebrations and authentic local cuisine.
The event, coordinated by Parish of SS. Peter, Nicholas and Santa Maria Assunta and supported by both the Municipality and the local Pro Loco, it aims to enhance the distinctive cuisine and flavors of the Picentini mountains. For three years now, this annual event has highlighted the exceptional gastronomic heritage of Montecorvino Rovella.
Between good food and culture
The celebration will take place in the picturesque Piazza Duomo. During the four evenings, starting at 20.00 hours, visitors will have the opportunity to taste a number of local delicacies. The protagonists will be the cortices serve with chickpeas and porcini, together with the peasant mascuotto enriched with Picentino extra virgin olive oil.
In addition to these main dishes, the event includes a series of stands they will offer one wide range of local delights. This fiesta represents an extraordinary opportunity for visitors to discover and savor the rich culinary tradition of the region, exploring a range of flavors that characterize this unique territory.
