Last December 18 2021 was a very special day, in which the Municipality of Naples, in the presence of the mayor Gaetano Manfredi, returned to the citizens that part of Villa Floridiana which for many years had been inaccessible to citizens for security reasons.

The affected area is a large park area of about 21.000 square meters, located between the entrance to Via Cimarosa and the panoramic terrace. In this area that will finally be usable by citizens are the Verzura Theater, the children's play area, the Grove of Camellias, the lawns, flower beds, avenues and paths of the area.

Rides for children and new lighting

The areas of Floridiana that can finally be visited and accessible to the public are those between Via Cimarosa and Via Belvedere, the area instead bordered by Via Polizzi and Villa Lucia is still closed and interested in the works.

In the reopened area they have finally been restored the irrigation and lighting systems with the transparent globes of the lights and the LED system. New benches have been inserted and the baskets and furnishings have been repaired, the carousels for children have been repaired.

The meadows were sown and the design of the flower beds and avenues planned in the first quarter of the XNUMXth century and designed by the architect Antonio Niccolini has been preserved. The fences and railings have been secured, there will be one new signage and in the area around the flowerbed of the large araucaria there will be an area dedicated to our four-legged friends.
