Works at the Capodimonte Museum, could close for 2 years: the masterpieces in the Louvre

It was announced a few days ago the news concerning the closure of the Capodimonte Museum in Naples for about two years, time during which the structure should undergo restoration work.

They are indeed expected well 45 million euros of investments for the works on the Museum and the Real Bosco di Capodimonte, these will include public lighting, heating and air conditioning systems and much more.

Currently, however, there is still no certain information on the closure that could take place at the beginning of 2023 and be total or affect only some rooms, or those involved in the works, for this it will be necessary to wait for the delivery of the time schedule and the details of the interventions.

The project of the works in Capodimonte

The works at the Capodimonte Museum have been entrusted to the company Engie spa services. The Bosco and Capodimonte Museum will be modernized with the most sophisticated low energy consumption technologies. The lighting of the wood paths will includeinstallation of led lights as well as museum lighting for the museum's exhibition itinerary.

Air conditioning systems will be installed and interventions will also be carried out on the roofs of the Royal Palace with seismic consolidation and improvement works. Rehabilitation and integration of insulating and waterproofing mantles and substrates, rationalization of plant components of the attics for the purpose of improving safety inspectability.

Capodimonte's works moved to the Louvre

About sixty works from the Capodimonte Museum will be exhibited at the Paris Museum, thanks to an agreement with the Louvre. Therefore, Capodimonte's works will dialogue with the works belonging to the Italian collections present at the French museum, in short, it will be a real Neapolitan season in France.
