There will also be a piece of Naples at the Sanremo Festival: LDA, stage name of Luca D'Alessio, will be the only Neapolitan artist who will compete among the 22 big names chosen by Amadeus. Here's what his first comment was when he learned he'd been selected.
Sunday December 4 2022, during TG 1 at 13.30, there was theannouncement of Amadeus of the 22 big names who will go on stage at the 2023 Festival of Sanremo.
Among these, surprisingly, there is also LDA, stage name of Luca D'Alessio, son of the Neapolitan singer-songwriter Gigi D'Alessio, who as soon as he found out that he had been selected for the singing competition, shared his joy on social media and thanked all the fan for have believed in him.
Sanremo 2023: LDA, first disbelief, then joy at having been chosen "Thank you all!"
LDA will be the only Neapolitan artist in the competition and, even if he is not among the favorites (most, on social networks, have written that, probably, the festival will be won by The Countryside Cousins), it is still a great victory for Campania.
The last participation of Naples in the Sanremo Festival dates back to 2017, when he went on stage Clumsy, a singer-songwriter originally from Scampia who, in addition to the second place among the new proposals, also won the Mia Martini prize in the same year.
But what was the LDA reaction when he found out he was chosen for Sanremo 2023?
In the video, shared by the singer himself on his Instagram profile, Luca D'Alessio he is sitting on the sofa, surrounded by his loved ones, but when he hears his name announced, he starts jumping for joy and shouting:
“Thank you all so much because it is thanks to you that I am in Sanremo today. Thank you all!"

Inevitable, as always, even the compliments of dad Gigi D'Alessio, who after hearing the news, also shared a post dedicated to his son on his social networks:
“Words are not enough to describe the joy of this moment. More and more proud of you, Luca. It will be another unforgettable stop on the wonderful journey you are on. I love you"
We just have to wait for the evening in which he will perform LDA to listen to the song he will bring to the race and find out if, despite the predictions, he will also be able to go to theEuro Vision Song Contest 2023.
