From October 29th to November 19st 2023, the Sundays in Cerreto Sannita they are dyed gold with Oil Sundays, an event dedicated to the celebration and discovery of extra virgin olive oil, one of the gastronomic jewels of the province of Benevento. The event takes place in Piazza San Martino, offering a unique experience of culture, tradition and flavour.
Every Sunday, give them 9:00 to 20:00, visitors are invited to participate in an immersive experience in the culture of extra virgin olive oil. The center of Cerreto Sannita comes alive with the pressing in the square, allowing you to closely observe the transformation of olives into oil. To enrich the experience, they are organized guided tours of the oil mills premises, where it is possible to learn the secrets of oil production.
The food stands do not fail to exalt the palates with tastings of oil and typical local products, while the on-site catering guarantees complete immersion in the flavors of the area. The atmosphere is cheered up by music e buskers, with an eye also for the little ones, thanks to activities of animation for children.
The event is not limited to gastronomy alone, but extends to a real cultural festival. Buskers and musicians perform throughout the day, enriching the streets with performances that are the ideal backdrop for discovering local flavours.
For visitors who come from far away, Cerreto Sannita offers various options parcheggio for cars and campers, ensuring convenience and accessibility. Among the available areas are the camper area behind the gym of the “A” elementary school. Mazzarella”, the internal car parks of the school itself and of the IIS Carafa-Giustiniani, and the “Cittadinanza Attiva” square.
