The famous film by Ferzan Ozpetek, The Ignorant Fairies, is become a tv series and soon we will already be able to see the 8 episodes.

In fact, from the 13 April 2022 will be streamed and we will be able to follow its story which, compared to the 2001 film, has undergone some minor changes.

The cast also appears Eduardo Scarpetta, now famous for the beautiful film “Qui rido io”, dedicated to the actor and theater director Eduardo Scarpetta, also father of the De Filippo brothers. The actor present in The Ignorant Fairies has his own name since he is a great-grandson.

The 2001 film also won many awards, such as 3 Golden Globes and 4 Silver Ribbons.

The platform Disney + will publish the 8 episodes of the series on Wednesday 13 April, but the episodes can also be seen on Sky Q or its equivalent online in streaming, that is Now TV.

What the series is about

The Serie, also shot by Ozpetek but together with the director Giancula Mazzella, as we said it is heavily inspired by the film, but there will be changes.

In the film, the doctor Antonia, specialized in the treatment of AIDS, is shocked by the death of her husband Massimo, disappeared in a car accident. Not only that, but the shock is made worse by the discovery that Maximus was entertaining one homosexual relationship with a certain Michele.

The discovery is made by following the traces of the painting entitled "The Ignorant Fairies", a work that Massimo had received as a gift.

Once she meets Michele, Antonia also becomes aware of her world of friendships and family, a group of very eccentric, but decidedly welcoming people, who will make them change your mind about your prejudices.

Who is Eduardo Scarpetta: from The Brilliant Friend to The Ignorant Fairies

This is the nephew of Vincenzo Scarpetta, in turn son of the great Eduardo Scarpetta, therefore descends from one of the most important Neapolitan families in the theatrical sector. In fact, the Eduardo of the early 900s, also father of famous trio of De Filippo brothers, was one of the most important playwrights on the Italian scene, but also worldwide.

His family was very large also because of the extramarital affairs that Scarpetta himself entertained and precisely from one of these were born Eduardo, Peppino and Titina De Filippo.

Returning to our Scarpetta, the most current one, we can say that the 14 April 1993 and immediately got noticed for his talent from an early age acting in the theater. With his family he attended several shows and also participated in many auditions, also devoting himself to the study of acting at the Experimental Center of Cinematography.

He debuted in fiction Capri-Revolution, but the general public knew him above all in the role of Pasquale Peluso The brilliant friend.

In 2021 he was the protagonist of the fim Carousel-Carosone, a tribute to Carosone for the 100th anniversary of his birth, and starred in the film Here I laugh, playing the son of Vincenzo Scarpetta.
