The historic Unfortunately, Ipercoop di Afragola has decided to close its doors, news that provoked the natural reaction of the hundreds of employees who had been working for the Le Porte Shopping Center in Naples for some time.

I workersIn fact, they decided to protest to protect your workplace by deciding to completely block the Shopping Center with a event to the bitter end. This reaction meant that the large supermarket postponed closure for a few days, which in fact should have already become operational.

Il worker sit-ins will continue for some time and the same employees have announced to proceed with permanent agitation and picketing to the bitter end.

The problem, like almost everyone lately, arises from the impossibility for Coop to bear the huge expenses.

The block of the shopping center

As mentioned, Le Porte di Napoli is inaccessible at the moment because whoever is on strike is on strike blocking access to the many shops inside, just to receive answers from Coop as soon as possible. Among the 130 strikers there are cashiers, shelves, butchers and other qualified professionals, but also many workers who form theinduced of the supermarket, that is, those who take care of cleaning and surveillance. Most of them are women, almost all of whom are members of single-income families.

The position of the union in favor of the workers

Luana Di Tuoro, general secretary of Filcams CGIL Naples, immediately sided with the employees, of course, declaring that:

We are with the workers and the workers. This absurd decision jeopardizes the working future of 130 workers, 130 families, to which the related industries must be added. We remind Coop to its entrepreneurial responsibilities which, despite having sold the workers to third parties a few years ago, still remains the owner of the brand and of the commercial spaces.
