From 1 to 5 August 2023 starting at 21:30 at the Piazza San Gennaro in Paiano, on the Amalfi Coast, the traditional and long-awaited appointment with the Illumination of San Domenico. A special party with the lighting of thousands of candles, torches and lights.
In fact, the young volunteers of the town, as required by tradition, specially arrange the thousands of lights, which will then be lit during the festive evenings. But that's not all, because even the citizens of Praiano turn on the lights candles and torches on their balconies, windows and gardens, giving life to one breathtaking show.
It is a celebration that has truly ancient origins and that was born to remember St. Dominic. It is thought that the first celebration of this festival was in 1600, the year which coincides with the arrival of the Dominican friars in Naples.

Here is the schedule of appointments:
1, 2 and 3 August
- Starting at 21:00 the will be played Bells of the Convent of Santa Maria a Castro and the church of San Gennaro VM The choreography curated by the "Ragazzi della Luminaria" will then follow. These two events will kick off thelighting of the 3000 candles positioned along the majolica floor of the square.
- At the Monumental Complex of the Convent of Santa Maria a Castro and on the Church of San Gennaro the installation of architectural lights
- The famous company Pyronix Productions will perform in fire performances, dances and flames
4 August
- 07:00 and 08:00 at the Convent of Santa Maria a Castro
- 20:00 at Church of San Gennaro Solemn mass in honor of San Domenico di Guzman celebrated by the Archbishop of Amalfi and Cava De Tirreni
- 21:30 the square will be illuminated by the Boys of the Luminaria with the flame donated by the Archbishop of Amalfi and Cava De Tirreni
5 August
- Show by the Pyronix Production Company "Pandora" on music performed live by the Nuova Orchestra Scarlatti. Show of artists, acrobats and dancers. Entrance to Piazza San Gennaro is allowed for guests until 22 pm.

- 20:00 Holy Mass
