At the Naples Zoo three days to deepen the knowledge with the 17 new guests of the structure, the Japanese Macaques
From Friday 25 to Sunday 27 January 2019 there will be many insights and special workshops for new guests of the Zoological Garden of Naples, the Japanese macaques. For the whole weekend of their arrival, some thematic events will be dedicated to get to know these unique animals better.
After the arrival of the elephant Mya, a great swimmer, the Naples zoo is preparing to host, in a new area completely dedicated to them, well 17 specimens of Japanese macaque, famous for his cute red face. The area was designed by vets and keepers, to best accommodate the species, which lives in groups and following very specific habits and rituals.
The Japanese macaque, also known as red-faced macaque, due to its characteristic color, is a monkey of the Cercopithecidae family, widespread in Japanese forests, where it is simply called saru.
