The Alexander Mosaic, kept at the MANN in Naples, depicts the Battle of Issus, made by Alexander the Great against Darius III of Persia. It will soon undergo restoration work and the project will take place in two phases.

During the first phase, which will run from January to February 2021, the mosaic will undergo a thorough visual and tactile inspection of the entire surface, then it will be removed from its position thanks to a specially designed mechanical handling system and preconsolidation of the loose tiles and layers of mortar .

In second stage which will run from April to July 2021, the works will affect the rear surface of the work.
