If you want to celebrate the Chinese New Year, under the banner of the year of the "Pig", then you will be interested to know that from 4 to 20 February 2019, starting from 14, you can take advantage of a reduced ticket of 5 euro to visit permanent collections and temporary exhibitions of the MANN, National Archaeological Museum of Naples. Also not to be missed is “Mortali Immortali. The treasures of Sichuan in ancient China ”, which, for the first time in Europe, collects extraordinary works, expression of the Shu culture.

A truly unmissable opportunity, thanks to which it will be possible to make a particularly suggestive journey through the finds of the little known Sichuan and enjoy a particular exhibition designed specifically for the Chinese New Year. In the atrium of the Museum, in fact, you can admire the "Porcellino", Statuette found 17 May 1756 in the rectangular peristyle of the Villa dei Papiri di Ercolano.

This very special work in bronze, which represents one of the many treasures disclosed by the deposits of the MANN, presents itself as a form of symbolic dialogue with the "2019 Year of the Pig". While in the oriental tradition the symbol of the Pig presents itself as a wish for stability, generosity and altruism, the National Archaeological Museum of Naples intends to repropose its iconography, drawing on the decorative heritage of the Villa dei Papiri.
