The series, conceived by Cristiana Farina and written with Maurizio Careddu, is directed by Ivan Silvestrini and takes place within a IPM – Juvenile Penal Institute, where the protagonists try to figure out who they are and what they want beyond the prison walls.

The project "Culture breaks the bars"

As part of the Rai social project for Sustainability-ESG entitled “Culture breaks the bars”, a workshop was organized with some youngsters from the Juvenile Penal Institute of Nisida. The laboratory, called “Out of context”, was conceived and organized by Rai in collaboration with the Institute's management and involved the "boys inside" in the presentation of the third season of "Mare Fuori".

Together with singer Raiz and the musician Pier Paolo Polcari, the boys wrote the lyrics of a song to tell their life experience. The song, titled "Day after day", speaks of walls and cells, of absent light and of eagles that no longer fly, but also of inexhaustible dreams and of a future that arises from having learned to look within.
