The register will be presented at the Comicon the 2 May 2015. However, in order to access the presentation area, which will be the CartooNA Auditorium inside the Mediterranean Theater, it will be necessary to have an invitation. This can be collected from the morning at 10.00 at the foyer at the entrance to the theater, subject to availability.
The event will start at 19.00 and will be accompanied by the music of the Oblique Strings: Riccardo Prencipe (guitar), Edo Notarloberti (violin)

The comic

The register narrates the events of Michelangelo Merisi, starting from his arrival in Rome towards the end of the 500s, to arrive at the escape from the capital. His life will be told through the narration of the most important episodes that have characterized his path, including excesses and women, but also all the passions that led him to take certain actions.

In reality, the comic will be composed of two books, the first of which will be released on newsstands 30 April 2015 and will be sold in two formats, the Regular andArtist Edition. This is made special by the presence of a letter that Manara himself wrote dedicating it directly to Caravaggio. A sort of attestation of esteem for what is considered a great artist. In fact, from an excerpt you can read:

“Maestro Michelangelo Merisi, I am a cartoonist […] Many years ago, in the classical high school exams, the professor tapped with his index finger on the cover of the history of art book, telling me: 'Tell me about this'. On the cover was your 'Fruit Basket'. Well, I looked great, I knew everything about you. At least everything a student could know, in those days ”.

Historical fidelity

The whole story of the comic is reported by Manara with great fidelity to the events that happened historically, referring to reliable sources and it is not fictional at all, although of course the Master's touch is evident in every table. Published by Panini Comics, in the Panini 9L series, it is a work intended both for fans of this art form and for art history scholars.
