Anti-Covid measures in Chiaia and in the historic center of Naples: dozens of streets at risk of closure

As part of the Coronavirus health emergency, a situation that still does not seem to be resolved, the mayor of the city of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi, has arranged aorder trade union to avoid any gathering phenomena in some streets in the historic center and the Chiaia district in view of the Christmas holidays.

The streets affected by the ordinance

What the ordinance provides

In particular, from 23 December 2021 and until 1 January 2022 the competent authorities can order the closure of these roads, in the event of dangerous gatherings, for a certain period of time, obviously it will still be possible to access private homes.

The 24 and 31 December 2021 there will be a ban on bars and catering establishments from selling drinks in glass containers, whether they are bottles or glasses, rigid plastic, cans, tetrapak and any other rigid material. The ordinance is also valid at the counter and at outdoor tables and the marketing is valid only in light plastic or paper cups. For those who do not respect the rules, there will be penalties ranging from 25 to 500 euros.

The ordinance of the Campania Region

We also remind you that the governor of the Campania Region, Vincent DeLuca, has issued a series of prohibitions to avoid the transmission of the virus in view of the holidays. In fact, from 23 December to 1 January 2022 it will be it is forbidden to consume on the street any type of food, only water allowed.

This ordinance therefore blocks the "tradition" of drinking and toasting in the street. Also, they are public events prohibited, obligation to wear the mask also outdoors and on 23, 24, 25, 31 December and 1 January 2022 from 11:00 to 05:00 there will be the ban on the sale with take-away of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages except water.
