An exhibition dedicated to the famous Eduardo De Filippo for the thirty years since his death. Rebuilt his original dressing room in the Basilica of San Giovanni Maggiore
Naples pays homage Eduardo De Filippo, on the occasion of the thirty years since his death, with an unmissable show set up inside the Basilica of San Giovanni Maggiore, which you can visit, free admission, until 29 June 2014.
Eduardo… places, life, works, this is the title of the exhibition curated by Bruno Garofalo, historical scenographer of De Filippo's works, and organized by the De Filippo Foundation and the Foundation of the Order of Engineers of the province of Naples, in collaboration with Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe who allowed to host the exhibition dedicated to the undisputed Neapolitan master in the place of worship of the ancient center of Naples.
Within the Basilica of San Giovanni Maggiore was rebuilt the original dressing room of Eduardo De Filippo, as it was in the 50s in the San Ferdinando Theater, with its trunk, the wardrobe with its stage clothes, and its make-up materials. Also on display many props of his famous comedies, including Pulcinella's "cuppulone", the glasses and gloves used in Christmas in the Cupiello house, shoes he wears, costumes, posters and scene photo taken by Claudio Garofalo, his photographer from 1970 to 1982.
Visitors will find themselves in front of a sort of “scenography” of the life of Eduardo De Filippo, recreated through the testimonies of his plays and his theater. Instead, in a room they will projected videos and some pieces of comedies.
The exhibition Eduardo… places, life, works, is part of the events organized in the Basilica of San Giovanni Maggiore on the occasion of the May of the Neapolitan monuments, to give visitors the charm of the past of the city of Naples through the eduardian works and his life, so dear to the Neapolitan public.
The next 31 Octoberinstead, date of Eduardo's death, it will be inaugurated the original dressing room of the playwright, right inside the San Ferdinando Theater.
