Il National Railway Museum of Pietrarsa it is unique in the national museum panorama and one of the symbol places of the history of Italian railways. Set up after careful conservative restoration interventions in one of the most important Italian industrial archeology complexes, the Reale Opificio Meccanico, Pyrotechnic and for the Locomotives, still preserves historical specimens of locomotives, first of all the historic Bayard, the locomotive of the first train ever built in Italy that dates back to the time of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies.
Il Museum of Pietrarsa organizes a new and exclusive event "The Train of Time, from the world of dinosaurs to the birth of the first trains ”which will allow visitors to travel through time to discover the Dinosaurs. Traveling first in the Jurassic accompanied by expert guides, the visitors will later meet the primitive men and discover with them the fire and then advance in time and observe the invention and construction of modern trains.
The reservation for the event is compulsory and the admission ticket for the event includes a free visit to the museum collection, one of the most important in Europe.
