The “Do ut do 2014” charity project will bring together unpublished works created by the most illustrious designers in the world to support the activities of the Hospice Sèragnoli Foundation. The exhibition at the Madre Museum in Naples
From May 22 2014 you will be able to admire at the Mother Museum of Naples of the splendid works of contemporary design realized for social and charitable purposes, thanks to the initiative Do ut do 2014: Design for Hosipice, which involved the world of contemporary art in the first edition of 2012 and which this year brought together many designers from all over the world.
Do ut do is a two-year fundraising event designed by Alessandro Bergonzoni in the 2012 and dedicated to Hospice Sèragnoli Foundation, which has been involved in the assistance, training, research and dissemination of the palliative care culture. In 2012 the charity initiative allowed the collection of 240.000 euros thanks to donations from art galleries, institutions and companies together with 38 of the most illustrious personalities of the art world, such as Vanessa Beecroft, Bill Beckley, Sandro Chia, Pirro Cuniberti, Yumi Karasumaru, Igor Mitoraj, Mimmo Paladino, Michelangelo Pistoletto.
Do ut do 2014instead, it addresses the world of design, and will participate in it architects, artists and manufacturing companies who will donate one of their unpublished works, then assigned by drawing lots to those who have supported the activities of the Hospice Seràgnoli Onlus Foundation with a contribution of at least 5.000 euro.
These unpublished works can be admired at Mother Museum of Naples from 22 May at 12, when there will be the inauguration, e until 25 May 2014, visitable for free. After the Neapolitan appointment the project will be exhibited at the Bologna MamBo from the 22 September to the 19 October, and it will be in Bologna, at the Mast, that the extraction and assignment of the works to the supporters of the Foundation will take place.
Among the artists who participated in Do ut do 2014: Sandro Chia, Riccardo Dalisi, Doriana and Massimiliano Fuksas, Alessandro Mendini, Jean Nouvel, Luigi Ontani, Mimmo Paladino, Ettore Sottsass and Philippe Starck.
The project Do ut do 2014 was created in collaboration with the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, the MAXXI - National Museum of XXI Century Arts in Rome, the MADRE - Donnaregina Museum of Contemporary Art in Naples, the MAMbo - Museum of Modern Art in Bologna, the MAST - Bologna Arts, Experimentation and Technology Manufacture.
