The cell of San Tommaso d'Aquino in San Domenico Maggiore reopened for the May of Monuments. "An impossible exhibition" extended until May 31, 2014

Exceptionally for the May of the Monuments in Naples, until May 31 2014 it will be ropen the cell of St. Thomas Aquinas inside the monumental complex of San Domenico Maggiore.

Here, in these beautiful and evocative rooms, St. Thomas he lived between 1272 and 1274, and taught theology within the theological studio set up in the same convent. Between the walls of the cell the saint-philosopher wrote some chapters of his masterpiece, the PRICE Theologica, and you will be able to admire the bell he rang at the beginning of his lessons and some of his relics, including a humerus attributed to him. But the most fascinating element of the cell is found on the altar: it is the Crucifixion, the small thirteenth-century painting before which St. Thomas had a vision of Christ.

The cell of St. Thomas Aquinas will be open every odd day of May from 17 to 20.

Still in San Domenico Maggiore it will still be possible to visit An impossible exhibition, the incredible display of 1: 1 full-scale works of Leonardo, Raffaello and Caravaggio, reproduced on very high resolution backlit panels. This is the largest exhibition of masterpieces of the world artistic heritage placed in a single environment that is enjoying great success with the public.
