l 15 December 2023 marks a day of mobilization for theUSB Trade Union Organization, which proclaimed one strike of 24 hours in the public transport sector. The repercussions of this mobilization will affect various aspects of the public transport, including those ANM like trams, buses, trolleybuses, funiculars and Metro Line 1.
Tram, funicular, bus and ANM metro timetables for December 15th
During the strike, the guarantee bands they will ensure a minimum service at certain times for the various means of transport.
Here is a detailed list of the times, but be careful: officially there is a precept from Salvini which would limit the strike hours from 10:00 to 14:00, but ANM has communicated that will not adhere to the reduction with strike from 3:00 am on December 15th to 3:00 am on December 16th.
We report the old strike times for transparency, given that the unions are on a war footing as a reaction to the injunction.
Surface lines (Tram, Bus, Trolleybus)
- Guaranteed service From 5: 30 to 8: 30 and by 17: 00 to 20: 00.
- The last departures 30 minutes before the start of the strike and resumed 30 minutes after the end.
Funicular
- Mergellina, Centrale and Montesanto: Last morning ride guaranteed at 09:20; resumption of service with the first afternoon run at 17:00; last evening run at 19:50.
- Chiaia plant: Closed for the whole day. An NC shuttle service will be active following the bus guarantee bands.
Metro Line 1
- First races morning from Piscinola to 06:30 and from Garibaldi to 07:10.
- Last races morning from Piscinola and from Garibaldi to 09:10.
- recovery of the afternoon service from Piscinola to 17:03 and from Garibaldi to 17:43.
- Last evening ride from Piscinola and from Garibaldi to 19:34.

Reasons for the Strike
The reasons for this strike are clear and powerful: at the center is the struggle for right to strike in public services, a fundamental right. Voices are raised against them starting salaries too low, a cry for fairness. There is a strong demand to revolutionize the system of public procurement: we want quality and justice in working conditions!
Job security? It's more than a right, it's a necessity. There is also talk of recognizing themurder at work as a crime. And then there's the battle for a decent minimum wage: 10 euros an hour, it's not just a number, it's the value of each person's work.
It doesn't end here: one asks new law on trade union representation, for a stronger and more representative voice. And last, but not least, the question of funding arises: stop military spending and to sending weapons to Ukraine. The priority? Investing in public services, those essential for our daily lives.
