A suggestive free concert by the New Scarlatti Orchestra in the Church of San Gregorio Armeno on the Neapolitan eighteenth century
La New Scarlatti Orchestra he will perform in a free admission concert at the splendid baroque church of San Gregorio Armeno.
The musical ensemble is not new to these initiatives and, for this occasion, will perform a "Music for the Ladies of San Gregorio“, Thus opening his Musical Autumn.
The appointment is for Saturday 18 October at 18.30 for a truly evocative evening. After more than three hundred years of their realization, new versions of Fr.sacred and profane agine of the '700 both Neapolitan and European.
These are scores that were written and designed to be played right inside the church of San Gregorio Armeno and are real autograph transcriptions designed for the recreation of the Benedictine ladies, that is, the religious and wealthy educands of the Naples aristocracy of that time who frequented the convent.
As anticipated, this is a free concert with free admission subject to availability. In addition to the New Orchestra, the soprano Cristina Grifone and the flutist Tommaso Rossi (recorder and traversiere), both specialists in Baroque music, will perform.
The Orchestra will also play many other tracks, some of them always with a religious theme:
- instrumental pieces by Francesco Mancini and Aniello Sant'Angelo
- passages of the religious Pergolesi of the Laetatus sum
- an unprecedented re-elaboration of the famous I'll do without Gluck's Eurydice
- an air of the Arsaserse by Leonardo Vinc
- the Nitteti by Pasquale Anfossi, a composer from Foggia
In addition to the appointment of 18 October, theMusical Autumn of the New Scarlatti Orchestra will continue during the months of November and December.
