Chiara Ferragni she showed up in Sanremo with a very significant dress, the first of a long series actually. The inscription was present on the debut dress "Think Free" and just like all the others, a post was automatically posted on her social profile with an explanation of the dress which, apparently, represents to all intents and purposes a means of communication.

The influencer, however, seems to have mistaken the origin of the phrase which should not be, according to the latest statements, created by Claire Fontaine as Ferragni stated in her social post.

Think Free Genoa from Black Scars comes to life

The writing "think free" is engraved on a frieze in the historic center of Genoa, at the crossroads between via di Fossatello and via San Luca. Chiara Ferragni wore it on stage during the first evening of the Sanremo Festival as part of the dress she wore.

“These simple but powerful words come from a work by Claire Fontaine” wrote Chiara Ferragni on her Instagram page “we hope they can inspire all women to feel free to step out of the role imposed on them by society".

The work, however, is not by Claire Fontaine. The artistic duo simply “found the phrase on a wall after a feminist march in Genoa”, as they wrote on Instagram (@foreignerseverywhere).

The authentic creators of the sentence are, in reality, an artistic collective of tattoo artists known on social media as @cicatrici. black and which operate between Italy, Spain, Amsterdam and Berlin. As they immediately specified from the Genoese Instagram page perle_dei_caruggi and as they declared with a post on Instagram, this group is the true author of the sentence.

The authors explain: "Think yourself free is not a slogan, it's not a product, it's not a post, it's not a trend, it's not a manifesto, it's not owned by someone, it's not to sell, it's not to commodify an idea ”.

“Think yourself free is an act of will to free people from the superficial, fast and oppressive life of modernity”. (Full text can be read on the authors Instagram page).
