Biography of Peppino di Capri  

Peppino Di Capri, born Giuseppe Faiella, It is born on July 27, 1939 in Capri from a family of musicians. Already at four years old he did exhibits playing the piano in front of the American troops during the war and at the age of six he began to study with a great and severe German teacher.

The singer from Capri was born and raised in a family of musicians. His grandfather was in fact a member of the Capri band, while his father Bernardo had opened a musical instrument and record shop.

The young Giuseppe Faiella begins to play the piano at the tender age of four, but at six she follows very strict lessons from a strict German teacher. In 1953 he began to perform with his friend and colleague hector falconeri and will assume the name of Duo Caprese. His piano teacher, when she finds out what the two young men are doing around the clubs, decides to kick him out and it is from this moment that Di Capri dedicates himself to music rock.  

In 1956, the two manage to perform in television in the program First applause. Here they sang two songs: Tu vuò fà l'americano and Cry, winning the first prize, i.e. a television. In 1958 he forms a group musical called the Capri Boys and were distantly inspired by American groups. Thus they achieved some success. 

The first big hits 

During a performance in Ischia, the group comes notato by a producer who was there on vacation and offers him to sign a contract record. In September, therefore, the band leaves for Milan to record ten of their songs already proposed to the public and widely approved.  

From this moment on, infinite possibilities open up for Peppino Di Capri doors in the world of music, producing five discs containing ten songs in a very short time. In 1959 the singer works hard to record various material which includes the successes of the Sanremo Festival.

We are in 1959 when Peppino Di Capri falls in love with a model from Turin called Roberta Stopped. The two met in Ischia and she, still eighteen, began living together with the artist.  

In 1961 yes marry, but towards the end of the Sixties they go through a profound marital crisis which leads the spouses to the separation which takes place immediately after the birth of their child Igor. In this period the singer binds to a biologist, at the time still a student, called Giuliana Gagliardi. 

The second marriage and the birth of two children  

In 1978 Di Capri married Giuliana Strong and shortly after the wedding, their two children were born. The biggest is called Edoardo and is born in 1981 and the second is called Dario and is born in 1986.  

His second wife muore on July 4, 2019 due to a bad illness. He was only 68 years old.
