The cultural site of Pompei not only consists of streets, shops and temples, but also of large green areas. The latter obviously represent a cost of maintenance, but now with the project “Pompeii Farm” it will be possible maintain them at no cost and above all to create added value for tourists who will be able to discover all the local heritage.

In fact, the goal is to enhance the entire green ecosystem of Pompeii through mezzi traditional, a way to exploit the "going back to the roots" in an innovative way e planet.

The Eco Pasture in Pompeii consists of the coast

The Eco Pasture it is a project that will last nine months and will make it possible to exploit the greatest traditional technology: a flock of 150 sheep in the ancient city of Pompeii which will eat grass and consequently it will allow to save on the maintenance of the green areas and above all to use an a zero environmental impact.

The sheep, in fact, would not go to consume electric energy like normal lawn care machines, they do not produce additional costs and do not create pollution, given that usually the cut grass becomes waste to be disposed of, in this case instead it is a resource for the sheep.

“Sometimes the greatest innovation is going back to our roots. Thus Pompeii, through the recovery of the most ancient and efficient traditional technology, "Nature", faces the management and maintenance of the green spaces of the site in a sustainable way. “- declares the Director of the Archaeological Park, Gabriel Zuchtriegel.
