Finally reopens to the public after extraordinary maintenance work, the path n°6 of the Vesuvius National Park, just what it is called Along the Strada Matrone, which in practice coincides with the gateway to the Vesuvius Crater from the Versante dei Municipalities of Trecase and Boscotrecase.

For several years, in fact, the path has been closed to visitors due to the serious damage caused by the terrible fireor occurred in 2017 and subsequent episodes of instability. From March 2023 it will instead be usable as cycle-pedestrian path, thanks also to the contribution of Forest Carabinieri of the Biodiversity Department.

How to visit the path n.6 of Vesuvius

Trail number 6 del Vesuvio will be open from 09:00 to 16:00, hours which will then be extended by two hours in the summer. Along this route you can admire the beauty of Vesuvius, rich in fauna and flora, breathtaking views and truly unique places in the world created by lava flows that have occurred over the centuries.

Entry to the trail is free and soon electric buses will also be available that will take visitors up to the square at an altitude of 1.050, thus transforming this path into the green way for the use of Vesuvius.
