Le Christmas lights of Vomero have been dismantled, this is what has happened in recent days amid the anger and amazement of the inhabitants of the neighborhood who have seen avoid the lights of the holidays after the preparation done in the previous weeks.
The Christmas lights, which were funded by the Chamber of Commerce, on via Scarlatti and via Luca Giordano are not there more because it was necessary to disassemble them to allow the tree pruning in the area.
The dismay is so much because the timing of this operation undermines the city decorations designed to brighten up the holidays and both traders and residents have found themselves decidedly displaced. All this 13 days before Christmas.

Il provision concerning tree pruning was taken a few months ago, in fact, the operations were scheduled from October, even before the inauguration of the new mayor, Gaetano Manfredi, and the company that must provide it had a deadline of 30 days starting from November 15 to finish everything.
Unfortunately, however, the lights must be disassembled otherwise you cannot act directly on the trees, since part of the lights are located right on them.
The commissioner Vincenzo Santagada had given reassurances at first, saying that the pruning would be done after the holidays, but in the meantime the extension did not arrive and therefore we proceeded within the deadlines set at the beginning, with great disappointment.

Here then the hot potato was passed between the chamber and the administration of the Municipality, through the Department of Green, precisely on who should have paid for the reinstallation of the lights. Unfortunately, this will not happen because it would be too expensive.
La Chamber of Commerce, who as mentioned has already financed the first installation, said he could not afford a new editing and the Common, which is in a predissesto state, has communicated that it will have many difficulties and therefore will not proceed with the installation
Here the lights at Vomero will not return and the Christmas holidays will be without lights as it has happened in previous years.
The hope of a replacement of the lights
After this coming and going of answers that did not lead to any derogation or the reassurance of a new installation, the President of the Vomero-Arenella Natural Shopping Center, Enzo Perrotta, struck by the enormous disappointment, pushes the Chamber of Commerce and the Municipality to provide for the reassembly, hoping that one of the two entities will shoulder the burden.
We hope that we will really find the Christmas lights at Vomero and that this inconvenience will not happen again next year.
