Food and crafts stands, visits and excursions include the Mushroom Festival of Cusano Mutri 2016!
One of the most awaited festivals in Campania is finally coming back and will take place 23 from September to October 9 2016: we are talking about the Mushroom Festival of Cusano Mutri.
The charming village of Cusano Mutri, in the province of Benevento, will therefore host this new, long edition more than two weeks, between food and wine, events and traditions.
The dishes that can be tasted in the many stands set up will, naturally, be based on mushrooms and will be cooked by the local restaurateurs. The king of the festival will, however, be the porcini mushroom, protagonist of most of the dishes present. All products like cold cuts, cheeses, meat and baked goods. A gastronomic offer that will make you lick your mustache and that will satisfy you in the many shops of flavors.
Furthermore, there will also be master craftsmen that will exhibit their works in wood, stone and wrought iron and there will be the possibility to carry out excursions to discover the flora and fauna of the Matese area.
Finally, there are also shows and cultural areas for the presentation of books and exhibitions and it is possible to visit the Civic Museum and the Paleo-Lab with the geopaleontological park of Pietraroja, the homeland of the baby dinosaur "Ciro".

The choice of the menu is wide and varied, from first courses, second courses and side dishes. The porcini carpaccio with bruschetta is particularly successful.
First courses (4 €):

- ravioli with porcini mushrooms
- paccheri with tomato sauce
Seconds (5 €):
- provola with porcini
- escalope with mushrooms
- mixed to the grill
Various (6 €):
- porcini carpaccio with bruschetta
- provola and porcini grilled
Also present numerous pizzas from € 3 to go up.
