The 2016 Masculotto Festival in Bracigliano: the typical local bread to be enjoyed in many recipes

The 2016 Festival of Mascuotto will invade the streets of Bracigliano on the occasion of the patronal feast!

From 29 July at 2 August 2016, in fraction of San Nazario in Salerno, the twelfth edition of the Sagra del Mascuotto Braciglianese, the typical bread, made by master bakers and obtained with wheat, toasted according to an ancient recipe, yeast and water.

To fully appreciate its goodness you have to taste it combined with a great variety of ingredients: mascot and sausage" mascuotto with local cold cuts and tomatoes, mascot and mallon". The latter is an ancient recipe of the poor with broccoli leaves and potatoes stir-fried with garlic and oil.

But the festival is not all here, in addition to good bread there will also be recipes of the tradition of bracliani as the "caponata"Made with olive oil and boiled beans, pasta alla Sannazarese, pasta and beans with pork rinds, fusilli alla sanzanese, local sausages, freshly made zeppola and lemon ice-cream.

To accompany these excellent dishes could not miss the wine from our countryside, limoncello and "the country percoca in wine", a juicy percoca left to soak in local wine. The festival, in addition to wanting to give space to the local culinary art, is also a moment linked to religious traditions: in fact, the patronal feast will take place, the procession of the patron saints Nazario and Celso and the execution of the band.

Il proceeds, as every year, will be donated to the parish that he will use it for the works of the Church.
