Cherry Festival in Casal Velino, Salerno: Cerasa Cilentana on display

Carl, idyllic village in the heart of the Cilento, famous for its delicious cherries, is about to immerse itself in a festive atmosphere. From the 1 to 4 June 2023, the picturesque hamlet of Casal Velino (SA) will turn into a sea of ​​red for the awaited seventh edition of the Festival of Cerasa Cilentana.

The event, which promises to be full of colors and flavors, will offer a menu revisited in a Cilento key, with a wide selection of typical products on display, and the inevitable rhythm of folk music.

The "Cerasa Cilentana" festival represents an unmissable opportunity for both tourists and locals, offering a unique opportunity to savor the essence of traditional cuisine enriched by the incomparable taste of cherries.

The new menu: a triumph of cherries

The menu, completely renewed for the occasion, promises to amaze the most demanding palates. The culinary adventure begins with an appetizer of goat cheese enriched with cherry molasses. There will also be the renowned "fusilli“, prepared by hand by the skilled local women and seasoned with a original cherry sauce, and the pork loin, also deliciously flavored with a cherry sauce. Visitors will also have the opportunity to taste the famous “Carullesi cherry”.

The menu ends on a sweet note with the traditional ones local desserts: from bocconotti to nasprati, from ox eyes to cannoli from Cilento, up to the typical “pizza roce”, all garnished with an exquisite homemade cherry jam. Everything will be accompanied by local red wine, produced in the vineyards of Carullo, and by popular melodies.

This festival is a real tribute to the genuineness of local products, an invitation to discover dishes that draw their uniqueness from freshness of the products at km 0.
