For Valentine's Day, a couple's ticket will allow access to the beautiful Treasure Room of the Basilica of San Domenico Maggiore

The day of Valentine 2015 Naples will be full of events, including guided tours of monuments, museums and the most beautiful buildings in the city, including concerts and shows in theaters and churches, not to mention the appointments on the road.

Among the many initiatives, there are, as every year, promotions dedicated to couples for visits to monuments and museums. As for the show #Obey at the Pan, also for the Sala del Tesoro inside the Basilica of San Domenico Maggiore lovers can buy a couple ticket at a special price.

The cost includes not only access to the Hall, but also a thematic guided tour, one shot of love in memory of the day, two tasty coffees and chocolates. All in the name of love.

The initiative was organized by ParteNeapolis Social Cooperative in collaboration with the Gran Caffè Neapolis, which is located right in Piazza San Domenico Maggiore.
But what does the Treasure Hall contain and why is it so interesting?

Located in the sacristy of the Basilica, its precise name is Hall of Furniture. Originally, it housed the reliquaries that were said to contain the hearts of the kings Charles II of Anjou, Alfonso the Magnanimous and Ferdinand of Aragon, but these, with the arrival of the French in the nineteenth century, were merged and hearts were not known nothing more.
Its furniture consists of large walnut wardrobes from 1749 and a wooden door from the 600th century, attributed to Cosimo Fanzago, leading to the Sacristy.

Its flagship is one show permanent bases, contained in the eighteenth-century wardrobes, e divided into four thematic sections : Aragonese Arche, Processions, Treasure, Sacred Furniture.
The Arks contain sacred clothes worn by the Aragonese kings and by the nobles of the viceroyalty; the Processions preserve reliquary busts of Dominican saints and precious objects; the Treasury consists of liturgical vestments of the Dominican friars, while the Sacred Furnishings once adorned the Basilica.

A visit not to be missed to know a unique place of worship.
