From Thursday 7 to Sunday 10 October 2021 the awaited first edition of the Sorrento Gnocchi Day, an event that wants to celebrate one of the typical dishes of the beautiful Sorrento and which will be attended by more than sixty clubs, trattorias, bistros, historic clubs and starred restaurants of the peninsula and beyond, which will insert this dish in their menus.
A simple and exquisite dish that of Sorrentine gnocchi, whose traditional recipe consists of potatoes, flour, eggs, mozzarella, extra virgin olive oil and tomato sauce, and that on the first day of the event will be overturned by 10 Chefs from Campania who will propose their own interpretation of the Gnocchi.
Sorrento Gnocchi Day: the Chefs
On the Terrace of the Sirens of the Circolo dei Forestieri of Sorrento exclusively for the press the 10 Chefs will compete to propose their reinterpretation of the dish, these will be: Mario Affinita, Giuseppe Aversa, Paolo Barral, Pasquale De Simone, Domenico Iavarone, Andrea Napolitano, Marco Parlato, Lino Scarallo and Giuseppe Stanzione.
A special will also be presented during the event sweet unedited, which will be dedicated to the Sorrento Coast. In fact, there will be Ciro Poppella, the creator of tasty Snowflakes, which for the occasion will present a new dessert at Caffè Illy, and from 8 October it will be possible to taste it in its patisseries.
